Well Savvy Blogging is challenging us to name our blogging goals for 2010! I’m definitely a goal oriented person, so I’m going to take them up on the challenge.
Every year I like to set new business goals, and this year one of my goals will be to certainly blog more, and therefore grow my income to where it is solely coming from my blogs. So here are my blogging/business goals for 2010:
1. Continue add content to my blog. – What would a blog be without content? It would be just a bunch of code taking up space on the interwebs! Not to mention content has been the #1 thing that has brought in traffic to a number of my blogs via search engines. However in 2009 I was so busy working on other business related goals that I never really focused on adding regular content to my blogs, and I have this sinking suspicion that if I did, then my income from blogging would be much better. So my goal is to come up with a posting schedule for each of my blogs and stick to it!
2. Start a Podcast. – I’ve been wanting to start a podcast for one of my blogs, and I recently took the plunge and began working on my very first episode. I plan to launch it some time this week. So my second goal is to launch and maintain a weekly podcast for said blog!
3. Treat my blog like it’s a business. – I have to admit, I don’t take working on my blog as seriously as I should. If we are all honest, this is an easy thing to do when you work from home, simply because we have the flexibility to work whenever and wherever we like. But is occured to me if I want to make a certain amount of money per hour of time I work, then I will need to treat my blog like it’s a business and “go to” work everyday, and have a set amount of time I will work on my business per day. I’m also focusing on growing my blogs. So goal #3 focus on blogging, and commit to a set amount of time to work everyday. The more time I put into my business, the more it will grow.
So there you go, my 2010 blogging goals! I would love to hear what your goals are so be sure to leave a comment.
