You may have a well-organized schedule, but you never know what unexpected circumstances may come your way. You can also prepare a manual with instructions on how to run your business and where they can find important documents on the computer and in your home office. Also include detailed contact information of your business partners, vendors, contractors etc.

You can also include your daily work routine…basically you want this person to know exactly what you do as a small business owner on a daily basis. The key is to make it as easy as possible for the person who’s taking charge. The transition should be smooth, not complicated, stressful or burdensome.
